GET INVOLVED

WHY JOIN?

The TAMU Student Government Association provides unique opportunities for students to build relationships, enhance leadership skills, become civically engaged, maximize their college experiences, and develop the six Aggie Core Values.

Below, three opportunities are listed for ways to get involved in the Executive Branch:

EXECUTIVE CABINET:

Applications and interviews take place following spring elections each year. Once selected by the Student Body President, the candidates are confirmed by the Student Senate.

To get involved with an SGA Committee directly, please check out the committee pages.

COMMISSIONS:

Once selected in the spring, Commissioners will recruit members at various points in the year. Commissioners serve a dual purpose in that they are members of the Executive Cabinet and serve as Chief Student Leaders of individual organizations. Information regarding the Commissioners can be found on the Executive Cabinet page, while information regarding the Commissions can be found on the Committees and Commissions page.

COMMITTEES:

The Student Government Association includes thirteen committees, which each serve a unique purpose on the Texas A&M University campus. Most committees recruit members at the beginning of the fall semester. Each committee has a separate application or selection process. Visit our individual committees’ websites under our Committees and Commissions page in order to obtain more information.
